Choosing the right movie when you are high might be tricky, so you might want to pick one before you smoke. The movie does not have to be funny, per se, or related to weed in any way, so do not restrict yourself to comedies or stoner movies. Judging from personal experience, any movie would go, as long as it matches your mood. Sometimes, you want something relaxing, and sometimes, you might want some more action. Here, we have a list of the best movies to watch when high.
Do you want to see a light-hearted musical comedy about two guys who love rock ’n’ roll and want to create the world’s most awesome band? Well, you got it. The Tenacious D movie is every metal head’s power fantasy: two dudes finding the magic guitar pick made of Satan’s tooth that turns anyone into a guitar virtuoso and finally creating that awesome band they’ve dreamt of. That’s not all though, as the Prince of Darkness himself is after his lost tooth. All of that happens in LA, the city of fallen angels, as Dio puts it, so it is one of the great movies to watch in the winter, especially when you are high.
Now we are hitting the cult classic; the Big Lebowski, the Dude, is the one-of-a-kind character who captivated millions with his passive yet oddly appealing attitude, chill demeanor, and peculiar life philosophy. See as the Dude navigates through some of the craziest of ordeals while drunk on his White Russians and high on his weed – truly a sight to behold. Stoner humor is also sprinkled here and there, so you will relate to some of the characters in the movie. The movie is set in late 60s Hollywood – time of love, hippies, Hawaiian shirts, illicit substances, and all that stuff will give you a rather spectacular throwback to some of the strangest times in American history. The amazing twist to the tragic story that shook the whole country will also give you a strangely satisfying feeling of conquering the terror of the 60s satanic panic. This is a perfect winter movie that is going to give you a wide range of emotions, from utter disgust to sheer joy, so it surely is worth checking out whether you are high or not.
Well, that is a movie that will make you feel high without any pot. This is a dark comedy by the one and only Martin Scorsese that follows the bizarre story of a simple guy whose attempt at an easy hookup led him into a maelstrom of unlikely events and crazy characters. Despite all the craziness of everything the main character goes through in a span of a single night, you can almost believe that all of that could’ve actually happened. Were the screen wrights smoking themselves? Now that is the question you are going to ask times and times again because it sure seems like they did. So, if you want to see something truly whacky, this movie is your choice.
