Anticipating Plant Growth: Access to Your Grow Area

It may seem like a simple thing, but more than a few growers have seen their efforts stymied by an issue that they may not have thought about when setting up their own unique hydroponics systems. It’s something that affects outdoor gardeners, too. Basically, access involves the efficient use of space to produce as many plants as possible in as small of a space as possible, without creating problems for yourself. Without good planning, these problems can crop up and really impair your ability to grow.

Hydroponics Grow Rooms and Grow Boxes

In smaller setups like grow boxes and grow tents, most growers won’t have this issue. That’s because these smaller grow systems are designed with access in mind. Manufacturers have planned for maintaining that balance between high-yield harvests and good crop access, and you’ll notice that net pot trays and other equipment is made with this in mind. But in a larger interior grow room, where growers are often in charge of demarcating plant rows and other space allocations, access can become a problem.

Visualizing Your Indoor Garden

When you are first dropping your seeds into trays for a hydroponics project, take a close look at your plant trays or other equipment and visualize how big your plants will become. Think about whether plants that are too close together could inhibit the kinds of maintenance that you’ll need to do throughout the plant cycle, or whether rows that are too close together might prevent you from walking the aisles. A little forethought can save you a ton of trouble later when your hydroponics garden is in its lusher phases.

For more on this issue, check out the online catalog of your hydroponic retailer. Manufacturers and suppliers of today’s hydroponics gear have anticipated almost all of the kind of negative situations that you can find yourself in as a grower. You just might find some products that would help you to more efficiently plan your next crop cycle.
