Training Wheels for Your Plants: Support in Your Hydroponics Workspace

One of the issues that those who pursue hydroponics gardening have to tackle is how to make sure plants have the support that they need to grow, as well as the freedom that they need to thrive. We’ve seen how overly restrictive grow box and grow cabinet systems can stunt plant development in various ways, but we’ve also seen how some great features in some of our most popular systems give plants a helping hand when they need it.

Freeing Up Plants to Grow

The best grow cabinet and grow chambers, even the smallest ones, are designed so that plants don’t have natural barriers to growth. We all want tall, healthy plants, and that means making sure that key pieces of the design don’t intrude into the growing area and inhibit the development of various hydroponics crops. This is one key part of design that we look for when we add grow box units to our inventory.

Plant Support: The Trellis Feature

Although many plants need unimpeded access to vertical areas in order to grow, there are some types of plants that will benefit from having a support system within the grow area. That’s why we’ve included the trellis feature on many of our hydroponic grow box designs. The trellis is made specifically to allow plants to climb safely, so that they can advance incrementally upward rather than drooping or falling to one side. The engineers that support our key manufacturers have put a lot of work into making sure that the trellis feature works as it’s supposed to, and it’s one way to get additional support for your crops.
